It has been brought to our attention that there is a possible investment scam being offered using the name and logo of Kenanga Investors Berhad (“Kenanga Investors”) through the WhatsApp application.

The method of operation includes ‘promising’ investors a guaranteed rate of return and requesting the investors to deposit/transfer money into a third-party’s personal account while using Kenanga Investors’ name, logo, images and company information to convince victims of their legitimacy.

Kenanga Investors wishes to reiterate that all authorised agents and/or employees are not allowed to accept cash or cash deposits from investors and all payments relating to investments should be done directly to Kenanga Investors’ account and not to the authorised agents or any other individual’s account.

Kenanga Investors wishes to remind investors to always be cautious of investment opportunities with unreasonable guaranteed profits or huge returns/profit which appear to be too good to be true.

Investors are advised to verify the investment schemes offered through the Securities Commission Malaysia Investment Checker at https://www.sc.com.my/investment-checker.

Members of the public may also conduct online verification checks at the Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia’s (FIMM) website (https://www.fimm.com.my/search/) to verify whether individuals they are dealing with are registered with FIMM as Consultants.
