Beware Unauthorised Use of Kenanga Investors Berhad’s Name, Logo & Documents
It has been brought to our attention that Kenanga Investors Berhad’s name, logo and documents have been misused in several incidents by individuals unrelated to Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad and its subsidiaries (collectively known as “Kenanga Group”) to solicit money from investors to purportedly invest in Kenanga Group products.
Kenanga Investors Berhad wishes to remind investors to verify the identity of individuals claimed to be authorised advisers of Kenanga Investors Berhad before proceeding to invest with the said individual. Members of the public may conduct online verification checks on Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia’s (“FIMM”) website at https://www.fimm.com.my/search/ to ascertain whether the individuals they are dealing with are registered with FIMM as consultants. Only individuals registered with FIMM as consultants are authorised to promote, market and distribute unit trust schemes and private retirement schemes.
Kenanga Investors Berhad wishes to advise investors to confirm with Kenanga Investors Berhad directly if they have encountered or received any suspicious documents containing the Kenanga branding.
Kenanga Investors Berhad also wishes to clarify that all authorised agents and/or employees are not allowed to accept cash or cash deposits from investors. All payments relating to the investments, either through transfer of monies or issuance of cheques, should be done directly to Kenanga Investors Berhad’s account and not to the authorised agents or any other individual’s account.
