The Edge: Investing in Local Tech
A recent article published by The Edge, titled Investing in Local Tech, features views of Kenanga Investors’ Executive Director/ CEO Ismitz Matthew De Alwis and other industry experts, the article explores the increased interest in the tech sector following the global rally in tech stocks. Investors are betting on the accelerated digitalisation trend triggered by the pandemic, which has restricted movement and thus increased the popularity of digital services. Kenanga Growth Fund and Kenanga EquityEXTRA Fund are among several local equity funds that have benefitted from this trend over the last 12 months. According to De Alwis, tech stocks have strong balance sheets and cash flow, which enable them to weather an economic downturn better than some other cyclicals.
